200 plus emails from the same company. Blast email gone wrong. HELP?

Posted by admin | Other - Business & Finance | Wednesday 29 July 2009 5:19 am

Starting last night at 9:00pm - I began receiving emails from PRweek.com. Each email was unique to a user. (yes, they shared private information). My problem is, as of 6:40 pm THIS EVENING, they have not stopped. I have sent an email requesting the immediate stop of all future emails. Nothing. I called the company directly at 9:00 a.m. this morning, they were unable to provide a time line when the emails will stop. I called again a 4:00 p.m. and got voicemail, where I left message again asking for them to immediatly stop sending me these emails. I just missed a call from a lady with PRweek.com stating she is very sorry however they used a thrid party vendor to send out the massive email. They still cannot tell me how many more I will receive AND when they will stop. Can anyone tell me what I can do? The email address they are sending through is my business email that does not allow for blocking specific emails. I have filtered them into junk email but my poor blackberry is crying. HELP

What’s better : HTML based email with few images or a big Image block with hyperlinks via image mapping?

Posted by admin | Other - Advertising & Marketing | Sunday 26 July 2009 9:22 pm

I have used HTML emails to run my email campaigns is past but found that if i send the entire as one image and provide hyperlinks via image mapping, i could save a lot of time as well as do not need to fear of email template getting distorted at the recipient’s end. Can somebody advise whether its a right idea or not?

What’s the etiquette when emailing potential employers to see if they’re hiring?

Posted by admin | Other - Careers & Employment | Saturday 25 July 2009 5:43 pm

I’m about to graduate from college with a B.S. in psychology and I’m looking for a job as a research assistant in a lab. Most professors don’t list these jobs on job search sites so I need to email them to find out if they’re hiring. Should I send my resume in my first email, or wait to see if they’re hiring? What kinds of things should I say? These may be people I want to work with down the road in graduate school, so I need to look very professional!

What do people think about HTML in email newsletters?

If you sign up for email updates or notices from a company, are you put off by HTML formatting (images / background colors / etc) in the emails? Is there a point where the HTML formatting is too much? How to you feel about: inline links, font-sizes / text-formatting, background colors, tables, etc? What’s acceptable and what isn’t?
